Nutrition plays a huge role in ensuring our Tamariki are ready to face the day and have the ability to focus on their learning and exploration.

All meals are prepared in our kitchen, using fresh ingredients from our vegetable garden where possible. The children play an active role in tending the vegetables by preparing the beds, sowing seeds, nurturing and harvesting the produce. This sustainable approach not only involves the Tamariki in the making of meals but also educates them about the origins of foods and making healthy food choices.

As part of our Transition to School programme we introduce our preschoolers to lunch boxes once a week, where they get to practise management of their lunch items.

Preparing meals on-site means we are adaptable to catering for individual dietary needs and allergies.

Harvesting our own vegetables means making healthy food choices fun for our Tamariki
